If I had to sum the photographs from up our recent trip to Morocco in one word, it would be…. Texture.

From the tranquil Riad we lived in, to the train station we traveled through and the mosques we prayed in. Morocco’s signature mosaic tiling is everywhere. Below are a few photographs of the colours and intricate mosaic tiling.

Fietas, also known as Pageview, an area rich in history and every bit as iconic and memorable as Sophiatown and Langlaagte during the apartheid era of South Africa.

Below are my pictures from the day, most were taken under the train bridge where some urban city renewal took place in the form of graffiti, fresh paint and steel silhouettes.

The Lenso Eagle alloy wheel has somewhat of a cult like status with automotive enthusiasts, its been in production for nearly a decade and always in demand. Heres a little close-up shot of the spokes, wheel dish and some selective coloring and dodging.

Did an unplanned little shoot of a Porsche Cayman S,  black vehicles are really difficult to shoot properly. From lighting, shadows, exposure and all sorts of things. Luckily Photoshop came in to rescue some of the pictures. Below are 5 of the better ones.

This one was taken with a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini,  who needs a tripod for your DSLR camera when you have the infamous silicon Power Balance Bracelet!

well worn builders boots (sepia)

Already one week into my daily photo blog post project:) – Today’s pic is something quite different from the usual eastern & automotive sets.  We are currently renovating a massive showroom and during our inspection walks today I spotted this pair of well worn builders boots. It was literally asking to be photographed.

I moved them into position and placed the camera on the ground to get this angle. A significant amount of photoshop adjustments included cropping and converting into black & white as well as sepia. I’m leaning to the sepia version as my favorite but have posted all 3 into this post.
